SAFETY AND SECURITY - EPIC
EPIC AVIATION SPECIALIST
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R961 945 PER ANNUM ? REF NO: SS 24/24
EPIC, a new and exciting department within the Safety and Security directorate is looking for a dynamic and passionate team member that can bring value to the aviation role that EPIC anticipates delivering to the directorate. Drone and ISR technology, and the resulting insight that can be derived for the safety and security departments will offer tremendous opportunities to improve service delivery for all!
Public Safety experience would be an advantage to this application.
Requirements:
- Commercial Pilot Licence - SACAA approved
- SACAA part 101 RPAS Certifications (VLOS, EVLOS, BVLOS)
- Valid AVSEC
- Valid class 2 or 1 medical certificate
- General Radio License (not restricted)
- Five (5) to eight (8) years' appropriate experience
- 350hrs of manned aviation flight experience
- 150hrs of unmanned aviation flight experience
- Experience in manned aviation
- Experience with specialised drone operations
- In depth understanding of the aviation industry
- No criminal record
- Valid driver's licence (Code B or EB).
Key performance areas:
- Manage all aspects of the Safety and Security aviation component
- Design and maintain processes and procedures to ensure operational readiness of drone teams and equipment
- Provide input into the aviation industry requirements of RPAS hardware and software
- Guide business in the appropriate and effective use of RPAS and related technologies
- Work together with external partners such as SAPS, EMS and others to ensure seamless operations
- Consult with SACAA and other statutory bodies relating to manned and unmanned aviation management for Safety and Security
- Participate with all statutory bodies and role players to ensure CCT aerial operations are compliant and safe.
